Intro
I’m Michael Albers. I live in Portugal and, in theory, this website is where I write longer pieces.
In practice, most of my time goes into two things: helping people import cars and keeping other people’s websites running.
Albers & Roukema – car import in Portugal
With Albers & Roukema I help people get their EU‑registered car properly registered in Portugal.
No “effortless” or “frictionless” promises: the process is complex, the rules change, and there are plenty of ways to get stuck.
I mainly handle the administrative side – paperwork, appointments with authorities, the order of steps, and explaining what’s expected when.
The goal is simple: clarity, so you know what’s coming instead of being surprised halfway.
Concatenate – websites, hosting, and domain names
Under the name Concatenate I build and host websites.
Most of them are WordPress sites for people who just want their site to load fast, stay secure, and not fall apart every time there’s an update.
I also take care of the technical details: hosting, domains, email, and DNS (the system that makes sure yourdomain.com points to the right server).
I prefer solid and predictable over flashy and fragile.
Writing (when there’s time)
michaelalbers.nl is meant to be the place where I slow down and write about things that stick with me:
from practical experiences to whatever happens to bother me that month. Sometimes fiction, sometimes non‑fiction.
Between Albers & Roukema and Concatenate there isn’t a lot of time left for writing.
So if you see something new appear here, assume one of three things:
- I finally had a free afternoon,
- Something annoyed me enough to sit down and type, or
- Both.
No publishing schedule, no content strategy. I write when I somehow have both time and something to say at the same moment.
